Socks... you bastards.

I forgot to put my socks (100% cotton) in Ziplock bags. All of them got soaked on the first day of trip. Lost two pairs to massive burns while they were neglected next to fire. Both Beretta and me are thinking of wool. But, damn, $17.95 per pair; I'm too cheap for that.

Any thoughts?

Alton Brown granola recipe

I modified this with honey instead of maple syrup, sunflower seeds instead of cashews, and I took out a 1/4 cup of oats and replaced it with wheat germ.

Moab Gore-Tex XCR

I wore this shoe at Wayne National Forest last year. Very comfortable, light (1.5 lbs.), and no busted ankles. Didn't rain much at Wayne so water resistance was not tested.

Canoe rental

We rented a canoe from the Kinzua Marina. It cost $60.00 for the weekend, Fri. @2PM until Mon. @ 10AM. When I publish the route itinerary you will see how we manage to jump on and off the trail. I should publish that Thursday night.
